Grace E. (Weaver) Pearson

PEARSON, Grace E. (Weaver), age 96 of Indian Head, MD, departed this life on August 6, 2014 in Vandalia, Ohio where she has spent the last five years with her daughter. She was born in Mitchellville, MD on November 13, 1917 to the late Annie E. (Bean) and Pierce F. Weaver). She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Pearson, daughter, Lelia Jean, sons, Thomas Edward and Raymond H. Pearson; 2 sisters, Elsie Burns (Phil), Ruth Redding (George) and brother, Francis Weaver (Kathleen); 3 sisters-in-law, Ida Hamilton (Jamie), Irene Middleton (George) and Mae Gordon (Earl); 2 brothers-in-law, George B. Pearson and Charles (Bobby) Pearson. Grace is survived by daughter, Marjorie Miller Halstead; brothers, William Weaver (Margaret), Ralph Weaver (Daisey), sister-in-law, Mary Ann Pearson; 5 grandchildren, James R. Miller (Susan), Michael L. Miller (Sharon), Jeffery E . Miller (Lisa), Kimberly Rocket (Chris), Danielle Hornsberger (Kevin); 7 great-grandchildren, Lori Lawson (Shaun), Michael Miller (Miranda), Alisha Cagg (Eric), Justin Miller (Jesse), Nicholas Miller (Tara), Shannon Miller, Adaman Hornsberger; 10 great-great-grandchildren, Madison, Rickey, Avery, Devon, Brooklyn, Josie, Paige, Vincent, Waylon and Leo, plus numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends. Grace retired from the U.S. Naval Propellant Plant as a Librarian after 35 years of service. Like the Mighty Oak - Strong and Sturdy, she is loved and will be greatly missed. Not to suffer, but to be at peace with Our Heavenly Father and Family. A special Thank You to Hospice of Dayton and all of the caregivers. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, Vandalia Fire Department or to a charity of your choice. Services will be held at St. Paul's Piney Church, 4535 Piney Church Rd., Waldorf, MD 20602. Monday, August 11, 2014. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm with graveside service to follow at the Piney Cemetery. Refreshments in the Hamilton Room following the burial. Arrangements in Maryland handled by Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home.
