Grace A Vennen

VENNEN, Grace Alice age 85, formerly of Vandalia, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the Otterbein Home in Lebanon. She was born October 16, 1923 in Hopkins, MI, daughter of the late Carl & Lillie (Berger) Ertel. Grace worked as a unit clerk at Miami Valley Hospital, and was a faithful member of the Vandalia United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed many years singing with the choir. Preceded in death by her husband, Henry P. Vennen, 2 sisters, Ruth Ertel & Dorothy Steinbach, Grace is survived by 2 sons, Sven Vennen & his partner, Andrew Merskin of Palm Springs, CA and James Vennen & wife, Florence Flo of Aurora, CO; 2 granchildren, Tamara & Erich; 3 great-grandchildren, Cody, Ethan & Aric; 1 sister, Helen Jones of Middleburg Heights, OH and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm, Tuesday, April 28 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Rev. Thomas Weeks officiating. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 noon until time of service.
