Hallie Swearingen

SWEARINGEN, Hallie D.

Age 91, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 10, 2016. She was born in Maysville, KY, the daughter of John and Nancy Hesler. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Joe; daughters, Diana, Carol Heaton and 11 siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Swearingen and Cheryl Farley-Britton; grandchildren, Nathan (Sasha) Farley, Jason Heaton, Amanda Britton (Dewey) and Jesse Britton (Amber); great grandchildren, Amanda Heaton and Samantha Wasabaugh; great-great grandchild, Austin Heaton; and special niece, Alberta Miller. Hallie was like a mother to the Meece and Montgomery kids, and a grandmother to all of her grandchildren’s friends. Mrs. Swearingen graduated from Manchester High School in 1945 and obtained a business degree from Bliss College in Columbus, Ohio. She was employed at Standard Register, Rikes-Kumler, Mead Corporation, Third National Bank and C.H. Dean and Associates. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia, Ohio 45377. She will be interred at Manchester Cemetery, on Saturday, December 17, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Hallie’s memory.
