HAER, Sr., Harold L.

Age 87, of Tipp City, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at his home. Harold was born September 27, 1929 in Dayton to the late Frank & Clara Haer. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Joann (Buehler) Haer, in 2015; son, Frank Haer; and by his daughter-in-law, Janet Haer. He is survived by four children, Fred Haer (Connie), Harold Jr “Homer” Haer, Diane Battson (Roger) & Judy Purvis (Dan); sister, Betty Casey; special brother-in-law, Mike Buehler; his best friend, his dog, Jackson; ten grandchildren, Michelle, Tammy, Brandy, Sidney, Kevin, Steve, Ryan, Kristen, Nikki & Jessi; fourteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Harold was a member of the American Legion in Northridge and he was a retired home builder. He loved his family, was an avid fisherman, was a so-so card player, enjoyed playing pranks on those he loved and he was a friend to the birds by keeping his feeders full. Harold donated his body to the Wright State School of Medicine. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. If friends desire, contributions should be made in memory of Harold to Miami County Hospice.
