Harvey C. Schroeder

SCHROEDER, Harvey C., age 84 of Butler Twp., passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Grace Brethren Village after a lengthy illness. He was born August 30, 1929 and raised in Missouri, son of the late Walter J. & Esther Schroeder. Harvey was a member of the Polk Grove United Church of Christ. He was the Owner/Operator of Schroeder Trucking & Excavating. After serving in the U.S. Army, Harvey moved from Missouri to Ohio where he met and married his beloved wife of 58 years, Jane (Jackson) Schroeder. Preceded in death by his son, Dean and grandson, Jeremiah Schroeder, Harvey is survived by his wife Jane; daughter, Jana Schroeder of Richmond, IN; son, Daniel Schroeder of Keller, TX; brother, Walter Schroeder (Roxie); sister, Maxie Green; grandsons, Kyle Schroeder & Jacob Schroeder (Stephanie); along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am, Saturday, June 14 at the Polk Grove UCC, 9190 Frederick Pike, Dayton, OH 45414. Interment will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until time of service. If so desired, contributions may be made to Polk Grove Church or to Hospice of Dayton in Harvey's memory. Arrangements entrusted to Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia.
