PENIX, Hazel age 91 of Vandalia passed away Friday May 28, 2010 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born May 1, 1919 in Paintsville, KY daughter of the late Wellington & Mary Margaret Walters. Hazel was a member of the Miami Valley United Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Ingram Penix, daughter Avenelle Myers, infant son Ingram Penix Jr, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Hazel is survived by one daughter Janet Grant of Brookville, one sister Lucille Ward of KY; 3 brothers Frank Walters of Miamisburg, Raymond Walters of KY, Shady Lee Walters of W.VA; 8 grandchildren Linda, Sharon, Bud, David, Greg, Darlene, Teresa, Chip; 11 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 2 at 11:00am at the Miami Valley United Baptist Church 660 Hyde Rd. Fairborn with Elder Eugene Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the Miami Valley United Baptist Church in Hazels memory.
