Helen Pauline (Knisley) Beakes

BEAKES, Helen Pauline (Knisley) age 96, of Fairborn, Ohio passed away January 5, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born March 11, 1917. Pauline was the daughter of Elisha and Goldie (Bryant) Knisley of Washington Court House, Ohio. Pauline graduated from Washington High School in the class of 1935. She graduated from Bliss College in Columbus, Ohio. Pauline was employed for 40 years with the United States Government, for the United States Navy in Washington D.C. and for the Air Force at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. She retired in 1980. She was married to John Beakes of Springfield, Ohio. Pauline was preceded in death by her father and mother, and four brothers and two sisters. She was also preceded in death by her son, John M. Beakes of Fairborn, Ohio. She is survived by her granddaughter, Leah (Michael) Wagner of Vandalia, Ohio and two grandsons, Austin Helman and Zachary Wagner, both of Vandalia, Ohio. Also surviving is her sister Mildred (Knisley) Wright of Springfield, Ohio, several nieces and nephews and a close family friend, Chris Helman of Springfield. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Bob Vogelmann officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 pm until time of service. Burial will be held at Byron Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Pauline's memory.
