Helen Elizabeth Gooding

Age 93, of Dayton, passed away peacefully at her home, Wednesday, September 7, 2016. Helen was born April 3, 1923 in Plummer's Mill, Kentucky to the late Frank and Mamie (Cooper) Campbell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Victor H. Gooding, in 2000; two sons, Victor Thomas Gooding & Ronnie Eugene Gooding; one great-grandson, Christopher Weitz; and by four sisters, Hattie, Cleora, Dorothy Frances, and Eulene.

She was a member of the former Ashcraft Church of God in Dayton. Helen and Victor retired to St. Petersburg, Fl., where the enjoyed many years of happiness in the Florida sunshine. Helen told everyone sincerely, “I love you”; she enjoyed gardening and making her home pretty, and will be missed by all who knew her.

Helen is survived by one daughter & son-in-law, Linda & Robert Goodman; six grandchildren, Theresa (John) Michalos, Pamela (Joseph) Weitz, Robert Jr. (Heidi) Goodman, William Gooding, Deanna Gooding, and Ronnie Gooding; and many loving great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., Monday (9/12) at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Steve Wetterhan officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
