HILTON, Helen E., age 92 of Englewood passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Sterling House of Englewood. She was born January 1, 1918 in Columbus, OH daughter of the late Michael & Ella (Finan) Cooney. Helen proudly served as a nurse in the United States Army during WWII and worked as a nurse with WPAFB for over 25 years and was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church. Preceded in death by 4 brothers, Jim, Ned, Jack & Ray and 2 sisters, Kay & Mary, Helen is survived by her sons, John Mike Hilton (Lynda), and Mark Hilton (Connie); 1 daughter, Mary Menke (Dan); 1 sister, Margaret Cooney; 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 16, at St. Christopher Catholic Church, Vandalia with Fr. Francis Keferl officiating. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 am until time of the service. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of Sterling House and Acclaim Hospice for the excellent care provided to Helen. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Christopher Catholic Church in Helens memory.
