Henry A. “Hank” Czarzasty
Age 86, of Vandalia, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 26, 2017.
Hank was born in Dayton on January 26, 1931 to the late Peter & Bertha (Zimbuska) Czarzasty.
Hank was proud to have served one term of duty in the United States Marine Corps and then in the United States Army with two years of active duty in the Korean Combat Zone. Following his military service, he was employed for 24 years with General Motors, having retired in 1988. After his retirement, he built many custom homes in the Dayton area.
Hank was an avid fisherman and boater. For many years, he enjoyed house boating on Lake Cumberland with his wife and family. His family will remember him as “a tough old bird” who loved life and was a role model for a happy life. He was a huge fan of Ohio State Football and he and his wife enjoyed traveling – having visited all seven continents.
Hank is survived by his loving wife of the past 66 years, Janet (Stevens) Czarzasty; three sons, Andrew & his wife, Tammy, Matthew & Mark Czarzasty; and two grandchildren, Andrew & Taylor Czarzasty. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Poplar Hill Cemetery in Vandalia.
