Herbert Harold Anderson

ANDERSON, Herbert Harold, age 87 of Vandalia, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born November 11, 1928 in Scott County, TN, son of the late William J. & Adra (Pittman) Anderson. Herbert was a retired employee of General Motors and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie; son, Greg, daughter-in-law, Nancy; brother, Girth Anderson; sisters, Rachel Tirhune, Aletha Sommers & Frances Ping; and his dear friend, Wilma Feleo, Herbert is survived by his son, Herbert Anderson Jr. of Camden; daughter-in-law, Kim Anderson of Vandalia; grandchildren, Alicia Mink (Nick), Alex Anderson & Jamie Morrissey; great-grandchildren, Kylie Mink, Evan A. and Ethan J. McAllister and Olivia Rose Lee Mitchell; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 20 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Interment will follow at Willowview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5-7 pm. If so desired contributions may be made to the American Heart or American Lung Association in Herbert’s memory.
