Homer G. Ashbaugh

Homer Guy Ashbaugh, age 79, passed away November 15, 2010, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Evelyn. Also surviving are daughter, Diane (Marc) Birchfield of Vandalia OH, sons, Scott (Suzanne) of Marietta OH, Ross (Karen) of Huber Hts OH & John (Beth) of Heath OH. He is survived by one sister, Ruby Kubrick of Monroeville PA & one sister-in-law, Ruth Risen of Sarasota FL. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by parents, Homer & Irene Ashbaugh & one sister, Rosalie Tira. Guy graduated from Wright State University, Dayton Ohio with a degree in engineering physics. He served in the military for many years, first with the U.S. Navy & then the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Sigma Pi Sigma, an honorary physics fraternity. He retired from Newark Air Force Station, Newark OH in 1992. He relocated to Sarasota in 2002. Services will be held at Morton-Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia, OH at 11:00 A.M. Friday, Nov. 26th with visitation one hour before the service. Inurnment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Tipp City Ohio. Contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
