Ida Jane Hollis

HOLLIS, Ida Jane (Baker, Crawford ) passed away April 22, 2016 at her home in Vandalia, OH. She was born in Dayton, OH on February 9, 1923 to the late Estella and Samuel Baker and was preceded in death by her sister, Delores. Ida is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Albert. Ida was employed at Standard Register and McCalls in Dayton for many years. She was a lovable, hard-working lady who loved being with her family, knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She was strong of character with the strength, wisdom, and gentle hand that made a beautiful difference in the lives of her family. Always giving, caring, and thinking of others before herself, she will be terribly missed by family and friends.

She leaves behind four children, Beverly (Richard) Dabbelt, Carl (Sharon) Crawford, Michael Hollis, Keith Yocum and Patricia (Duane) Deal; 5 grandchildren, James and Robert Dabbelt, Aaron (Jennifer) Deal, Amber (Timothy) Thomas, and Stephanie Schultz; 10 great-grandchildren, Abbey, Andy, & Anna Thomas, Cody & Connor Schultz, Montana Dabbelt, Jenna, Alanna, Eli & Jessica Deal.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Saturday, April 30, at 3:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1-3 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Crossroads Hospice, 8069 Washington Village Trail, Centerville, OH 45458 in Ida’s memory.
