Imogene L. Gilbert

GILBERT, Imogene (Powell), age 88 of Fairborn, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born Christmas Day, 1929 to her late parents, Russell and Clara Powell.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Eveline, Ernest, Opal, Jesse, Betty and Darrell. She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, R. Pascal (Pat) Gilbert; her only daughter and child, Judy Marie (Kenneth) Yoakum; brother, Charles Powell; 2 grandchildren, Kenneth Edward (Dee) Yoakum and Lisa Renee (Chris)Vance; 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Imogene worked for and retired from Elder Beerman Corporation after 38 years of service.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, May 7 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Pastor Chuck Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Imogene’s memory.
