JOHNSON, Jack H., age 85 of Vandalia, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born March 12, 1927 in Hazard, KY, son of the late John B. & Myrtle Johnson. Jack was a retired Supervisor with General Motors, a WWII U.S. Army Veteran, a 25 year member of the Inland Retirees Club and a member of the VFW. Preceded in death by his daughter, Perian Whitaker, 1 brother, and 3 sisters, Jack is survived by his wife, Helen J. Johnson; 1 son, Jack John Johnson & wife, Taunya (OConner); 2 step-sons, Mike Salsbury & wife, Becky, and Steve Jenkins; 3 step-daughters, Diana Stout & husband, Chuck, Jaymie Pedigo & husband, Jim and Tracy Feran & husband, Gary; son-in-law, Bill Whitaker & wife, Sue; 12 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 18 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Mr. Bill Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at Willowview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5-8 pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Jacks memory.
