James M Cassell

CASSELL, James M., age 86 of Vandalia, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born December 30, 1924 in Anderson, IN, son of the late John & Florence (Evans) Cassell. James was a US Navy Veteran and worked as a graphic artist for NCR and Frigidaire. Preceded in death by his wife, Lola and 1 brother, William Cassell, James is survived by 1 daughter, Sue Melaszus (John) and 1 son, Dave Cassell (Pam), all of Vandalia; 4 grandchildren, Lisa Robinson, Christopher Cassell (Dee), Nick Melaszus & Andrea Cassell; 3 great-grandchildren, Brittany, Tanner & Connor Cassell, and numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am, Friday, March 5, at the Vandalia Church of the Nazarene, 620 Stonequarry Rd, with Pastor Josh Cougle officiating. Burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Thursday evening from 5-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Vandalia Church of the Nazarene in memory of James.
