James W. “Jim” Cupp
Age 85, of Vandalia, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017. Jim was born July 12, 1931 in Jellico, TN to the late Jess & Fannie (Huddleston) Cupp. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by several siblings.
James was a veteran having served in the U. S. Army; he retired in 1984 from Associated Truck Line with over 20 years of service; he attended Fellowship Baptist Church in Vandalia; was a member of the Vandalia Masonic Lodge and the Miami County Grange. Jim was also an accomplished musician with many instruments and specialized in Blue Grass & Country music.
He is survived by his loving wife of the past 64 years, Lois C. (Creekmore) Cupp; two children, James (Jr.) Cupp (Karen) & Teresa Siegel (Fred); four grandchildren, Jason Judd (Christine), Jeremy Judd (Cadence), Julie Edwards (Joe) & Sarah Koewler; 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Siler (Minnis) & Velma Douglas (Frank); and by his extended family & many good friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday (2/18) at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Pastor Dennis Phillips will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery in Vandalia. The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Jim to the American Heart Association.
