James Christopher Jackson

Age 65, of Tipp City, passed away Monday, August 12, 2024, as the result of an auto accident alongside his best friend, Matt Stoermer. Chris was born August 16, 1958 in Dayton, Ohio to James Harvey Jackson & Ruth (Suttmiller) Jackson-Tokasey. His father preceded him in death.

In addition to his mother, Chris is survived by two daughters, Sydney Ann Jackson and Kayte Lynn Jackson; seven siblings, Michael, Caroline, Collette, Loretta, Elisa, Matthew, and Joseph; and by his extended family & many good friends.

He was the owner of Adventures on the Great Miami, a canoe & kayak livery in Tipp City. Chris loved his customers and his incredible staff. In his younger years, he was proud to work at his family-owned restaurant, Suttmiller’s, in downtown Dayton.

Chris never missed a chance to remind us all that life is too short not to be a little bit crazy. Chris had a love for cooking, entertaining, and making people laugh. He could never pass up a good deal and was the poster child for “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”. You could always find him buzzing around his property on one of his four wheelers. Chris’ legacy as an extraordinary father, brother, son, and friend will forever be cherished by all who had the joy of knowing him. And while his love for explosives and mischief might have caused a few loud surprises, he always ensured that the fun never fizzled out.

Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Andrew Smith at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 17, at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Vandalia. Following Mass, all of Chris’ family & friends are invited to a celebration of his life to be held at 1995 Ross Road, Tipp City, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that you join them to help celebrate the life and adventures of “Action Jackson” in a potluck-styled gathering.
