KLOSTERMAN, James E., age 93 of Vandalia, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Stonespring of Vandalia. He was born December 30, 1923 in Piqua, OH, son of the late Edward and Catherine (Fella) Klosterman. James was a former member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Piqua, and has been a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church since 1954. He was a WWII U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran and was a member of American Legion Post #668 and was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 1645. James enjoyed boating, skiing, camping, woodworking, bowling and spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by his wife Arline Klosterman on August 23, 2016, James is survived by his 3 children, Trudy Matheny (Jerry), Terry Kuck (Mike) and Tom Klosterman (Barb); 8 grandchildren, Brian Erisman, Stacie Lohr (Sean), Kim Saldana (Fiance’ Alex) Eric Matheny (Tracy), Kelly Duckworth, Jeff Bergstrom (Michelle), Missy Waltos (Steve), Erin Kuck (Travis); 15 great-grandchildren, Austin, Cody, Dylan, Carmen, Dylan, Jase, Ryan, Landon, Millie, Carter, Jaxon, Macey, Taylor, Troy, Lolo, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday April 1 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 435 E. National Rd., Vandalia with Fr. John Tonkin officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, Piqua, OH. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in James’ name to the Autism Society of Dayton, 4801 Springfield St., Dayton, OH 45431 in honor of his great-granddaughter, Millie. Arrangements entrusted to Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia.
