WARNER, JAMES L. age 90, of Brookville, formerly of Butler Twp., passed away Monday, September 21, 2009 at Brookhaven Nursing Center. He was born June 14, 1919 in Verona, OH, son of the late David & Nellie Warner. Jim was a self-employed Master Plumber, was a social member of the American Legion Post #668, and was a co-founder and very active member of the Vandalia Youth Baseball Association for many years, dating back to the early 1960s. Preceded in death by his wife, Winifred in 2008, 1 brother, Bob and 4 sisters, Jeanette, Betty, Pauline & Virginia, James is survived by 2 sons, Douglas Warner of Butler Twp., and Scott & wife, Dusty Warner of Vandalia; 3 granddaughters, Debra & husband, Dave Lopez of NY, Shannon & husband, Travis Dixon of Vandalia and Traci & husband, Bob Gorman of KY; 3 great-grandchildren, Andrew Lopez, Troy & Lauren Dixon; special nieces, Keena & husband, Bruce LaVielle, & Kelly Edwards; special nephew, Kenny Johnson Jr., and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Saturday, September 26, from 2-4 pm. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Mr. Warners memory. The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff at Brookhaven and to the Hospice team for the kind and compassionate care they all provided for James.
