James Smiley

SMILEY, James D. Jim age 76 of Vandalia passed away Monday July 2, 2007 at the Riverside Nursing Center following an illness. He was born February 17, 1931 in Kentucky, son of the late William and Cora (Adams) Smiley. Jim was a retired employee of Premiere Rubber and Rubber Tech. He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine Smiley. Jim is survived by one daughter Suzanne Elkins of Huber Heights; one son Jerry Smiley of Dayton; one granddaughter Lisa (Elkins) Bratton; one great-grandson Noah Bratton; 4 sisters and one brother and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Friday July 6 at 10:30am at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with Rev. Ron Hajarian officiating. Burial followed at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm.
