James D. Troy

Mr. James D. Troy age 73 of LaFollette, TN formerly of Vandalia, OH passed away Friday, November 26, 2010 at St. Marys Medical Center of Campbell County. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a retired machinist and welder. He loved bluegrass music, fishing, sports, and dancing. Preceded in death by parents, Ray and Irene Gerst Troy, grandson, Jakob Troy, sisters, Phyllis Bailey and Helen Martin, and brother, Raymond Troy.Survivors: Wife, Mrs. Sue Troy of LaFollette; Children, Wayne Troy and wife Kim, of Hillsborough, OH, Susan Hodges and husband Larry, of Greenville, OH, Sharon Higgins and husband Derek, of Vandalia, OH, and Andy Troy and wife Nicole, of Troy, OH; Thirteen Grandchildren, One Great-grandchild, and one Great-grandchild on the way. Several other relatives and friends.The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 P.M. Sunday at Walters Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Troy will be transported to Vandalia, OH to the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. where the family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00noon until the time of services at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to: Campbell County Senior Citizens, Inc., 102 South 8th Street, LaFollette, TN 37766.
