James L. Vance, Jr

VANCE, James L. Jr., age 55, of Butler Twp. passed away Wednesday March 14, 2018 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born May 7, 1962 in Dayton, OH, son of James L. Sr. & Shirley (Crabtree) Vance. Jim was a 1980 graduate of West Milton High School and attended JVS. He retired from the Butler Township Service Department as a Supervisor after 34 years of service. Jim was a snow plow rodeo winner who also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at the animal shelter.

Preceded in death by his sister, Donna Lynne Vance, Jim is survived by his wife, Lora; his parents, James & Shirley; 2 sisters, Karen (Tim) and Vicki (Cotton); children, Heather (Kory) and Forest; step-children, Michelle (Ben), Lauren (Dion), Heather & Zac; grandchildren, Olivia, Gage, Jack, Nichole, Rylie, Chloe, Gracie & Brooklyn; nephews, Andrew (Lindsay), Gunnar & Alex, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for family and friends will be held Tuesday March 20 at 1:00pm at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00am to 1:00pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center in Jim’s memory.
