WARNER, James Donald, age 63 of Vandalia passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at his residence. He was born May 12, 1952 in Dayton, OH. Preceded in death by his wife, Georgian Warner and his father, Donald E. Warner, Jim is survived by his mother, Barbara Warner; his daughter, Jade (Darrel) Griggs and two granddaughters, Dakota and Taylor Griggs; his brother, Phil (Sandy) Warner, sisters, Marcia Heil (Rodger Garber) and Brenda (Paul) Smyth; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was the Plumbing Supervisor for Dayton and Montgomery County with 30 years of service and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He enjoyed the outdoors, and was a member of the Dumb Bassers Fishing Club. Jim loved deer hunting, gardening, farming and fishing. He and Georgian loved being a part of the Jack Bowser Racing Team #21 of Springfield, Ohio. Jim also taught plumbing at the Montgomery County JVS and worked part-time with the New Carlisle Health District. A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held at 4 pm, Sunday, January 10, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 pm until time of service. In addition, a Celebration of Jim’s life will be held for family and friends on Sunday, January 17 at the Irish Club, 6555 Dog Leg Rd., Dayton, OH from 1-5 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Dayton Area Heart Association in Jim’s memory. Jim was loved by many and will be forever missed.
