HOESSLI, Jeanette M. Jean (DeBoer), age 81 of Vandalia, passed away Tuesday May 1, 2007 at home with her family. She was born February 12, 1926 in Wichert, IL, daughter of the late John & Jessie DeBoer. Jean went to school in Peotone, IL where she was a cheerleader and a majorette while in high school. She married Lewis Hoessli in 1950 and together they moved to Vandalia where they raised a family of five children. Jean was always a devoted wife and mother to her family. They attended the Vandalia United Methodist Church. After retirement, they moved to Florida where she enjoyed her favorite hobbies: boating, fishing, gardening and enjoying the Florida sunshine. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor. Jean was preceded in death by her son Dennis Sparks and brothers Albert, Jake, Harry and the Rev. Robert DeBoer. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Lewis; son Steve (Diana) Hoessli of Butler Twp., daughter Vicki (Dan) Reynolds of Vandalia, daughter Debby Boyce of Tipp City, daughter and caregiver Sandy (Scott) Kasler of Vandalia, daughter Terri (Duane) Clark of Englewood. Also surviving her are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers Johnny DeBoer and Louis (Beverly) DeBoer; sister Dolores (Ted) Kleinheksel; sister-in-law Alice DeBoer and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday May 4 at 10:30am at the Vandalia United Methodist Church 200 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia, with Rev. Thomas Weeks officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia on Thursday evening (TODAY) from 5 to 8pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Jeans memory.
