Jeff C. Bishop

BISHOP, Jeff C., age 71, of Vandalia passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Miami Valley Hospital. Jeff was born June 11, 1953 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Guy and JoAnn Bishop. He was a 1971 graduate of Vandalia-Butler High School, earned his BA in Social Work from Wright State University He retired from Greater Dayton Premier Management.

Jeff was a lifelong Vandalia resident and was widely known and loved for his kind and friendly manner towards people. Like his father, Jeff was often seen running or cycling the streets of Vandalia. He was a dedicated athlete, avid Corvette enthusiast, and lover of beautiful flower beds and landscaping. A man of faith, he was active in church communities his entire life. He loved his cats, Malachi and Riley, and they were beloved companions who preceded him in death. Jeff had a kind heart and those who knew him loved him. He will be greatly missed by many.

He leaves to mourn his sister Jill in Tucson, his beloved Sherie, and assorted family members in Columbus, Ohio, Bellevue, Ohio and Delores, Colorado.

A Celebration of Jeff’s life will be held from 4-6 pm, Tuesday, October 22 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with a service to follow at 6:00 pm. Private inurnment will be held at Poplar Hill Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Ohio River Valley, P.O. Box 22443, New York, NY 10087 in Jeff’s memory.
