Jewell Shepherd

SHEPHERD, Jewell age 81 of Union, passed away Saturday July 19, 2014 at her residence following an illness. She was born June 16, 1933 in Four Mile, KY daughter of the late Charles & Martha (Gambrel) Jordan. Jewell was a retired employee of WPAFB and had attended Greenview Calvary Tabernacle. She enjoyed gardening and watching the birds and just living her life. Jewell felt her calling was to be an "encourager" to others. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers Charles R. Jordan Jr., and Sol E. Jordan; one sister Lonzie Jordan; 3 grandchildren Robert Shane Prunest, Charles Daniel Shepherd, and Samantha Jewell Prunest. Jewell is survived by her husband of 60 years Charles; 4 daughters Kathy (John) Hager of Union, Mona Prunest of West Milton, Cynthia (Michael) Fortney of FL, and Anita (Terry) Williams of KY; 3 sisters Oma Kimbro of TN, Jody Wallace of Xenia, and Fay Beard of Bowersville; 6 grandchildren Rochelle Weaver, Anthony Shepherd, Krystle Wilson, Amanda Skidmore, Hanna Turner, and Monica Seeley; 8 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 23 at 10:00am at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia. Burial will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery.
