Joan R. Jonas

JONAS, Joan R., age 88 of Vandalia, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Hearth & Home of Vandalia. She was born January 31, 1923 in Bay City, MI, daughter of the late Ernest & Christina (Elsen) Keipert. Joan was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and the Vandalia Senior Citizens. Preceded in death by her husband, Bud Jonas, 1 brother, Jack & 1 sister, Val, Joan is survived by her daughters, Joyce & husband, John Reichard and Mickey & husband, Tom Melat, all of Vandalia; 1 brother, Tom & wife, Joanne Keipert of MI; 3 grandchildren, Tim Reichard (Elaine) of Clayton, Teri Winget (Scott) of CO and Andy Melat of Vandalia and 3 great-grandchildren, Kevin & Mitchell Winget and John H. Reichard. A Graveside Service for family and friends will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, February 25 at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery, 8135 N. Dixie Dr., with Chaplain Hal Ward officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Acclaim Hospice, 7887 Washington Village Dr#350, Dayton, OH 45459 or to the charity of your choice in Joans memory. The family would like to express their gratitude to all the nurses, the entire Hearth & Home family and Acclaim Hospice for all the care, love and joy given their mother over the past years.
