“Joe”

Age 51, of Vandalia, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 31, 2019. He was born September 22, 1967 in Saint Paul, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald & Sandra (Beardmore) Goodhart.

Joe retired from the U. S. Air Force as a Master Sgt. with 22 years of service. He was an avid Vikings fan, a serious golfer, an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting & fishing, tinkering, fixing almost anything and working on cars.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of the past 25 years, Michelle D. (Ervin) Edgell; daughter, Hayden Edgell; father, Robert Edgell; siblings, Chris Downey (Mike), Brian Goodhart (Alicia) & Shawn Schenkmeyer (Brian) his in-laws, Alan & Resa Ervin; and by his extended “military family” & good friends.

A memorial gathering will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon on Monday, April 8, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia.
