John D. Gillott

GILLOTT, John D., age 81 of Vandalia, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at the Springmeade Health Care Center. John was born in Jacksonville, OH on July 2, 1932, son of the late Desra J. Gillott & Pauline (Dow) Gillott. Preceded in death by his step-mother, Evelyn Gillott & 1 brother, Gary, John is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean, 1 son, Frank (Donna); 2 daughters, Dee (Al) and Michelle (Ralph); 3 sisters, Sharma (Tom), Mary (Bob), and Veda (Dick); 1 brother, Nyle; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Private family services will be held for John at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia with his interment to be held at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. John was an avid Vandalia-Butler sports fan, and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Vandalia-Butler Athletic Boosters or Miami County Hospice in his memory.
