HAGER, John W. "Pickle" age 60 of Union, passed away Monday August 11, 2014 at Grandview Hospital following an illness. He was born July 25, 1954 in Dayton, son of the late James & Atlas (Claire) Hager. Pickle enjoyed fishing, playing the drums, and he enjoyed a variety of music, especially the Beatles. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers Chalmer Williams, James Boggs, and Jessie Hager. He is survived by his wife of 28 years Kathy; his children Rochelle Weaver of Huber Heights, Krystle (Mitch) Wilson of Kettering, Jason Snell of Dayton, and Heather Smith of Riverside; 4 grandchildren; father-in-law Charles Shepherd; sisters-in-law Mona Prunest, Cynthia (Craine) Fortney, Anita (Terry) Williams; special friends Chris Farrier and Randy Pinkston and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday August 14 at 10:30am at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia with Rev. Tim Livingston officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8pm.
