John J. Hebb
Age 88, of Dayton, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017, at The Hospice of Dayton. John was born July 20, 1929 in Dayton to the late John W. & Lucille (Reed) Hebb.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church for over 70 years. John graduated from Vandalia-Butler High School, class of 1947. He retired with 27 years of service with Delco Products and from 1950 – 58 he served in the U. S. Air Force Reserves. John was an avid bowler who rolled several 299 games and after retirement he enjoyed golfing and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
John is survived by his loving wife of the past 59 years, Imogene A. (Anderson) Hebb; daughter, Deborah Crenshaw (Andrew); two grandchildren, Randall (Lori) & Lauren (Kyle); four great grandchildren, Annabeth, Brady, Amelia & James; two sisters, Julia Peiser & Janet Rozell; and by his extended family & many good friends.
The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12 Noon on Tuesday (10/10) at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon with Pastor Kurt Lammi officiating. Interment will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
