John L. Hoffman

HOFFMAN, John L. age 92 of Dayton passed away Thursday August 15, 2013 at Hospice of Dayton. John was born February 13, 1921 in Springfield, OH son of the late Theodore & Mildred (Arnold) Hoffman. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran who proudly served his country and was awarded the Purple Heart. John was preceded in death by a step-daughter Renva Kelzenberg and 2 sisters Mary Snell & Grace Gaver. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Dorothy; one son Gerald & wife Gloria Hoffman of FL; one daughter Millie Lutz and Rick Stamps of Dayton; one grandson Jonathan & wife Nicole Lutz; 6 great-grandchildren Devin, Cayden, Aleigha, Ethan, Emma, and Cole. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia on Monday from 12:00 noon to 1:30pm. Funeral services will follow at 1:30pm at the funeral home with Rev. Bobbi Predmore officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. If so desired, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Johns memory.
