HOLDEMAN, John W. Jr age 75 of Vandalia, passed away Thursday November 15, 2007 at the Riverside Nursing Center after a lengthy illness. John was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Farmersville Lodge # 482 F & AM and the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. He was a former employee of McCalls and was a retired employee of Dayton Press and the Mound. John was preceded in death by his wife Delores in 1998. He is survived by 2 sons Curt Holdeman of Butler Twp and Todd (Lita) Holdeman of Vandalia; 4 grandchildren Chrystal, Amber, Brandon, and Shelby; 4 sisters Joyce (Don) Baldwin of Beavercreek, Gloria Oxner of TX, Jane Holdeman of Kettering, Nancy (Jerry) Hall of Troy; 3 brothers Bob (Shirley) Holdeman of Beavercreek, George (Velma) Holdeman of Springfield, Jim Burt (Wanda) Holdeman of Butler Twp. and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Monday November 19 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association or to Heartland Hospice in Johns memory.
