John D. Kuhn

KUHN, John D., age 85 of Vandalia passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015. He was born March 20, 1930 in Preble Co., OH, son of the late Samuel & Ruth Elizabeth Kuhn. John was a United States Army Veteran, worked for NCR and retired from Hobart. He had a passion for cooking, gardening, the outdoors, tinkering in his garage and spending time with his family. Preceded in death by one son, John Carl Kuhn, brother, Ernest Kuhn and sister, Mary Cunningham, John is survived by his wife of 66 years, Norma (Vandiver) of Vandalia; 3 daughters, Kathleen D. Reynolds of Bellefontaine, Cynthia J. Janeway of Dayton and Teresa L. Jones (Danny) of Dayton; 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Jennings; sister-in-law, Virginia Kuhn; son-in-law, Larry Reynolds and a host of other relatives, neighbors and good friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 30 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Interment with military honors will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm. The family would like to offer a special heartfelt thank you to the Good Samaritan North Oncology Department and Staff for all of the loving care and support for John, as well as our Heartland Hospice nurses & staff who have truly been our guardian angels.
