John D. Miller
“Jack”
Age 86, of Tipp City, passed away Friday, June 19, 2020, at the Upper Valley Medical Center – Hospice Unit in Troy. Jack was born May 27, 1934 in Richmond, Indiana to the late Paul K. & Dorothy (Zeyen) Miller. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by five siblings, Marilyn Taylor, Pete Miller, Marty Miller, Jimmy Miller & Ronnie Miller. Jack proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War and he went on to retire in 1990 from WPAFB Logistics Command as a Computer Specialist. He was also a life-member of both the Vandalia VFW and AMVETS. Jack is survived by his loving wife of the past 65 years, June (Thomas) Miller; five children, Teresa L. “Terri” Smith & her husband, David, Julie M. Miller & her husband, Chris Gremling, Michael A. Miller, Martin A. Miller & his wife, Diana and Timothy L. Miller & his wife, Anita; four siblings, Kenneth Miller (Bonnie), Patricia Wessel & her husband, Rick, Donna Vance & her husband Marvin and Kathy Hammons; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Thursday, June 25, at the Vandalia United Methodist Church, 200 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Pastor Michael Malcosky will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Tipp City. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Jack to the Salvation Army. Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia, is in charge of arrangements.
