Josephine Rabith

RABITH, Josephine E., age 84 of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born June 18, 1922 in Akron, OH, daughter of the late John & Josephine (Klein) Hohl. Josephine was a charter member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Englewood, was active in the church ladies guild, and was a member and past officer of the Vandalia Senior Citizens. She was also a member of the community card club, was a poll worker in Vandalia for many years, and was a member and officer of LWML. She tutored Vandalia-Butler students for many years, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Preceded in death by her husband, Frank Rabith and 1 son, James Rabith, Josephine is survived by 1 son, John & wife, Mira Rabith, currently living in Egypt; 1 brother, John Fritz & wife, Dee Hohl of Naples, FL; 2 sisters, Eva Mueller and Dorothy Kortze, both of Akron and her numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 17, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Rev. Michael Maciupa officiating. Burial followed at Forest Hills Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 9100 N. Main St., Dayton, OH 45415 in Josephines memory.
