Joyce Evelyn Albert (nee: Goodpaster)

Age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at The Hospice of Dayton.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Stella (Phelps) and William Goodpaster; two brothers and four sisters; her loving husband of 66 years, Carl; daughter, Marilyn K. Hogstrom; and great grandson, Nicholas D. Hodges.

She is survived by son, Larry (Karen Sue) Albert and daughter, Vickie (Scott) Hodges; and her brother Gerald (Linda) Goodpaster; and special niece, Betty Froman. She is also survived by grandchildren David (Melanie) Hodges, Ben (Rachel) Albert, Luke (Christina) Hogstrom, Emily Summers, Andrea Franz, Nathan and Zachary Albert as well as great grandchildren, Gwen Franz, Shelby and Sidney Summers, Dominic Shearer, Raina Hogstrom, Nola Hodges and Clair and Madelyn Albert and great great granddaughter, Hope Hodges.

She faithfully attended the First Baptist Church of Vandalia (now First Light Church) for many years.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 19, at First Light Church, Vandalia Campus, 140 Elva Court, Vandalia. John Seagraves will officiate. Interment will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery in Vandalia. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday.
