Joyce Betts

BETTS, Joyce age 78 formerly of Vandalia, passed away Friday June 3, 2016 in Jeffersonville, IN. She was born October 10, 1937 in Senath, MO daughter of the late Herman & Millie (Jones) Shrum. Joyce was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vandalia and the 9th and O Baptist Church in Louisville. She was a bus driver for the Vandalia Butler City Schools for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Betts and one brother Bill Shrum. Joyce is survived by 2 sons Don & wife Linda Betts of Clayton and T.J. & wife Ann Betts of Jeffersonville, IN; 5 grandchildren Joel (Leslie) Betts, John Betts, Stephen (Charity) Betts, Timothy Betts, Ashley (Drew) Jackson; 7 great-grandchildren Madeline, Charles, Sophia, Addison, Ethan, Aiden, Eli and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday June 9 at 1:00pm at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia. Burial will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11am until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Clean Water in Kenya P.O.
