Joyce V. Tucker

TUCKER, Joyce V., age 71, of Vandalia, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Miami Valley Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born September 14, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio. Joyce enjoyed her several years spent working in the cafeteria at Butler High School, and attended the Greenview Calvary Tabernacle. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by her mother, Mary Verburg, Joyce is survived by her husband of 50 years, William P. Tucker; 2 daughters, Paula Whitecar & husband, Don and Michelle Graham, both of Vandalia; 1 brother, Charles Elm Verburg & wife, Donna of Vandalia; 3 grandsons, Michael, Benjamin and Bryan; her mother-in-law, Bonnie Tucker and 1 sister-in-law, Mary Day & husband, Robert, all of Lenoir City, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 12 at First Baptist Church, 140 Elva Ct., Vandalia with Pastor Norm Livingston, Pastor Tim Livingston and John Seagraves officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Friday evening from 5-8 pm.
