Karen E. Mowery
Age 65, of Vandalia, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at Miami Valley Hospital.
She was born February 14, 1954 in Dayton to the late Harley & Hazel (Hyder) Gentry. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Joe Gentry.
Karen was a 1972 graduate of Vandalia-Butler High School and went on to earn her Nursing degree from Rets Tech Center. She enjoyed flower gardening, crafting, shopping and shooting, but her greatest pleasure was from spending time with her family.
Karen is survived by her loving husband of the past 26 years, Michael M. Mowery; children, Tony Mowery (Misty), Steve Mowery (Sarah) & Angie Lochard (Brad); sister, Debbie Conn (Paul); eleven grandchildren; two nieces, Crystal Conn-Offill & Melanie Conn-Wright; four great nieces & nephews, Damian, Madison, Hadley & Jace; and by her two golden retrievers, Cooper & Chloe.
The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 16, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with John Seagraves officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery.
