FISHER, Kathleen S., age 84 of Vandalia, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Hearth & Home of Vandalia. She was born February 21, 1929 in West Milton, OH, daughter of the late Tom C. & Martha M. (Miller) Evans. Kathleen was a retired clerk with the U.S. Postal Service, Vandalia Branch, and also worked for the Vandalia-Butler City Schools as well as serving as a clerk for Fishers Auction Service. Kathleen was a life member of the Polk Grove United Church of Christ, a member of the Miami County and the Ohio Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary, the Vandalia Garden Club, Vandalia-Butler Historical Society, Ohio Beekeepers Association and the Bruckner Herb Society. She was an avid gardener & world traveler, and was always on call to transport, visit or assist those in need. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles; one brother, Donald P. Evans and one sister, Marcille Coppock, Kathleen is survived by two daughters, Elaine M. Pleiman (John) of Tipp City and Barbara E. Teodosio (Joe) of Lima; one sister, Irene Marsh; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer, Lydia, Ian, Anthony (Haley), Leanna, Alex and Eric, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, March 11, at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Rev. Ed Long officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, West Milton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5 pm. If so desired, contributions may be made to the Polk Grove UCC Memorial Fund in Kathleens memory.
