Kathleen Faye “Kathi”  Sowders

Age 82, of Kettering, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023, at Kettering Health – Dayton. She was born September 23, 1940 in Dayton to the late Robert C. & Geraldine (Hupp) Doebler. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Frederick B. Tressler; her second husband, Earl D. Sowders; and by two (twin) brothers, Ronald & Bobby Doebler.

Kathi was a member of New Hope Church where she volunteered in the Art Department. She enjoyed cooking & baking and for many years she had Katy’s Catering in Manchester, Ohio. She also enjoyed quilting and painting quilt squares on the sides of barns in southern Ohio.

Kathi is survived by four children, Kimberly Grierson & her husband, Greg, Fred Tressler III, Shelli Ricker & her husband, Tony and Erica Elliott & her husband, Ed; ten grandchildren, Shannan, Danielle, Alex (Jared), Brian, Jasmine, Freddy (Samantha), Gregory (Natalie), Jake, Kevin & Josie; eight great grandchildren; five siblings, Jack Doebler, Tim Doebler, Rosemary Fisher, Darlene Bartman & Holly Wabler; and by her extended family and many good friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 11, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Willow View Cemetery.
