BETTS, KATHRYN RUTH Age 89 died peacefully at Hearth & Home at Vandalia 2/16 /07 Formerly from Shelby, Ohio, Kate had resided at Hearth & Home for the last 3 ½ years. Kate was the music and choir director at the Austinburg and Shelby United Churches of Christ for over four decades. Preceded in death by her husband Hank , Kate is survived by her brother Richard Reichhard and his wife Jane of Jerome, Idaho and her children; daughter Lee Ann Kingston and her husband Billie of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; son Dick Betts and his wife Beth of Mukwonago, Wisconsin; son Herb Betts and his wife Susie of Vandalia, Ohio; son Scott Betts and his wife Fran of Plymouth, Ohio. The family wishes to thank the members of the Murlin Heights United Church of Christ for their gifts of support, the staff of Hearth & Home for the quality care our mother received, the VITAS Hospice personnel for their caring concern during the last few months of Kates life, and the professional attention received by the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home kate received after her death. Although the family feels sorrow, her life as the familys matriarch and her devotion to her churches and Christian principles is cause for joyous celebration. Memorial contributions may be sent to the charity or church of your choice. Kate would have had it no other way.
