Kathryn Irene Thompson

Age 91 of Vandalia, departed this life September 24, 2024 at Brookdale Englewood Assisted Living. 

Kathryn was born In Lucasville, OH, October 15, 1932 to Thomas and Susie Colegrove. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Norman Thompson on September 30, 2013; four sisters, Hazel Gibbles, Helen Conley, Tharlene Salisbury and Dolores Trimble; five brothers, Labourne, Raymond (Rock), Herman, Kenneth and Paul Colegrove. 

Kathryn dedicated her life to her faith and her family. She will be greatly missed by son, Carl and wife Natalie Thompson of Dublin, OH; daughter, Ellen and husband Larry Pelfrey of Vandalia; grandchildren, Lindsay and Garrett Pelfrey; great grandchildren, Layla Tackett and Gage Freels; as well as many dear nieces and nephews, and special friend of sixty years, Joyce Ellis.

The family will be receiving friends from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm on Wednesday, October 2, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia. Funeral services will begin at 12:30 with Pastor Nathan Pelfrey officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in memory of Kathryn to the American Heart Association, 1313 W Dorothy Ln, Dayton, OH 45409  or the Alzheimer’s Association of the Miami Valley, 6 N Main St Suite #130, Dayton, OH 45402.
