NISWONGER, Kathy A., age 80 of Butler Twp., passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at her residence. She was born February 6, 1941 in Dayton, daughter of the late Robert W. & Isabelle (Whitmer) Hall. Kathy met “the new boy next door” when she was 17 and he was 16, and Gary was the love of her life. They were blessed to share 58 ½ years of marriage. She had a zest for life and loved people.
Kathy worked for the Vandalia-Butler City School System in food service for 20 years and also loved her time as a cosmetologist. She was an amazing cook, loved music, flowers, and animals. She was an avid beach lover, enjoyed her vacations to San Francisco and attending Englebert Humperdinck concerts. Kathy had a heart of gold, full of love for her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Gary; son, Casey Niswonger (Devona); daughter, Kelli Hood; 3 grandchildren, Jeremi, Joshua, and Jessica; 3 great-grandchildren, Austin, Savannah & Jayden; 2 brothers, Dr. Michael Hall (Kay) and Ronald Hall (Noreen); 1 sister, Peggy Beal, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of Dayton in Kathy’s memory.
Private family services will be held, and arrangements are entrusted to Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, Vandalia.
