Monnin, Kenneth F., of Russia, Ohio. Beloved husband to his loving wife of 53 years Marilyn (Meyer) Monnin. Ken was born in Russia, Ohio on March 3, 1933 to Wilfred and Bertha Monnin. He died very peacefully at his home on July 10, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Rose (Monnier) Monnin, brother Edwin Monnin, and grandchild Augustus Monnin. Ken is survived by his 11 children Jeanne (Mike) Jarvis of Dayton, OH., David (Mary) Monnin of Plain City, OH., Douglas (Susan) Monnin of San Antonio, TX., Daniel Monnin of San Antonio, TX., Dale Monnin of San Antonio, TX., Dean (Malissa) Monnin of Columbus, OH., Julie Monnin of Chicago, IL., Jodie (Dave) Chapman of Columbus, OH., Janelle (Todd) Ruhe of Columbus, OH., Jennifer Kocher of Columbus, OH, and Janet Monnin of Chicago, IL. He was blessed with 15 Grandchildren: Garrett, Kenlee, Amanda, Alyssa, Arianna, Anabella, Chloe, Henry, Michael, Macy, Marina, Ethan, Alex, Addison and Andrew. Dear brother to Shiela (Monnin) Peterson, Father Robert J. Monnin, and Gery (Jane) Monnin. Loving brother-in-law to Sister Della Mae Meyer, Connie (Chuck) Steinke and Dick (Debbie) Meyer and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Ken served in the Korean War as an Air Traffic Controller. He was a successful entrepreneur, establishing Dayton Door Sales in 1961 and served as President of DODA (Door & Operator Dealers Association). Ken was an active parishioner of St. Christopher Parish in Vandalia which included President of Boosters Club, Board of Education, and working on many parish activities such as festival, bingo and a sports coach. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and VFW. After Ken retired from Dayton Door Sales in 2008, he spent time vacationing with family and friends, camping, and was a loyal fan to the Dayton Flyers and Cincinnati Reds. Above all, he was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Christopher Church, 435 E. National Rd, Vandalia, OH 45377. Visitation will be Monday, July 14, 2014 from 4:00 - 8:00pm at St. Christopher Church. Interment will be at St. Remy Cemetery Russia, OH.
