Kevin S. Lloyd

Kevin Sheldon Lloyd, 64, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024 with his family surrounding him.  

Born in Dayton, Ohio on November 23, 1960, Kevin met his wife Deborah (Reiter) Lloyd and was married on August 15, 1981. Kevin was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran from 1980-1984, serving those years in Rapid City, South Dakota, where he learned his trade of aircraft maintenance and avionics. His career with Federal Express (1987-2024) took him to Memphis, Tennessee, then to Greenwood, Indiana, where they raised their family and lived for 35 years. While in Indiana, Kevin earned his Master’s degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Aeronautical Science.  

Kevin was an avid outdoorsman and enthusiastic Ohio State University football fan. He enjoyed playing ice hockey, riding his motorcycle, and coaching various sports teams for his children. Kevin never met a stranger, liked a good debate, and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He was the master of all dad jokes, was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand, and was always present at his children’s functions and events. Kevin never missed an opportunity to show his love to his wife by bringing her flowers, writing letters and notes, and surprise visits at her work. Their love and affection was obvious if you ever saw them together. In April, 2024, Kevin and Debbie moved back to Ohio to be closer to their children, grandchildren, and families.  

Kevin contracted Covid in January 2021, underwent the first Covid-related double lung transplant in Indiana on February 14, 2021, and had open heart surgery on his 61st birthday of the same year. This provided him with just over 3.5 years to spend with his loved ones, as well as meet his two grandchildren. 

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Harrison Lloyd (1999), father-in-law, Joseph Reiter (2021), and beloved dog, Cooper. He was survived by his wife of 43 years, Debbie Lloyd, his children Logan (Brittany) Lloyd, and Jessica (Jamie) Siesel, his grandchildren, Hazel and Eleanor, his mother, Patricia (Del) Corn, brother, Devin (Mary) Lloyd, sister, Lisa (Mike) Rhodehamel, mother-in-law, Jane Reiter, brother-in-law, Donnie (Patsy) Reiter, sister-in-law, Linda Whitaker, as well as many other extended family members. 

Kevin’s visitation will be from 11am-1pm Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024 at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home in Vandalia, Ohio. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1 pm. Burial ceremony will directly follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery.
