Kymrith Whitson

WHITSON, Kymrith, age 50 of Pleasant Hill, OH, passed away October 9, 2008 at Hospice of Dayton after a lengthy illness. She was born March 10, 1958 in Dayton, OH, daughter of the late Nathan & Mary (Harbaugh) Scharff. Kym was a registered nurse at the Upper Valley Medical Center and her family would like to offer special thanks to her friends and co-workers for their love and support throughout her illness. Kym loved spending time at home with her family and her beloved dogs, Midas & Bug. Preceded in death by her sister, Ronalie David and 1 infant brother, Gary Scharff, Kym is survived by her husband of 18 years, Rob Whitson; daughter, Leah Scharff of Union; son, Shane Scharff of Troy; sister, Sharolyn Smith (Roland) of Englewood; brother, Brent Scharff (Susie) of Tipp City; nieces & nephews, Thad, Gwen, Jennifer, Todd & Rochelle, special mother-in-law, Jane Brinkmeier who lovingly cared for Kym, and a host of other relatives and friends. It was Kyms wish that her body be cremated and a gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, October 13 at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia from 5-8 pm. Private Graveside services will be held at a time determined by the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or to the American Cancer Society in Kyms memory. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the caregivers at Grandview Hospital and Hospice of Dayton for the excellent care they provided to Kym.
