Larry L. Coleman

Age 72, of Vandalia, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Brookhaven Nursing & Rehab Center. Larry was born April 29, 1945 in Dayton to the late Paul G. & Lola Lucille (Rasor) Coleman. In addition to his parents, Larry was also preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Vicki (Baxley) Coleman in 2008; a daughter, Crystal Sutherland; a sister, Jean Craig; and by two brothers-in-law, Bob Meeker & Don Craig.

Larry loved fishing (and more fishing!), Line Dancing, and motorcycling. One time he and Vickie made a month-long trip to California and back on their motorcycle and in 1969 he built a 1933 Willy’s Hot Rod.

Larry is survived by a daughter, Carrie Thatcher (Nathan); son-in-law, Scott Sutherland; sister, Paula Meeker; three grandchildren, Colton & Cody Thatcher and Allyson Moore (Josh); great granddaughter, Lillyana Moore; numerous nieces & nephews; and by his extended family & many good friends.

The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday (4/16) at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday (4/17) at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Witter officiating. Interment will follow at Poplar Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Larry to The Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
